Bojan Krkic Happy with a Return to First-Team Action
Bojan Krkic says that he became emotional after coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw with West Ham.
It marked the first appearance for the Spaniard since the middle of September. He has been struggling with injuries for a long time. The former Barcelona forward was a revelation in his first season at the club. Many were left surprised with the quick adaptation by the 26-year-old to life in the Premier league. Injuries often bring a career to a standstill and it appears to be the case with Bojan Krkic of late. After managing to score 7 goals in 27 league appearances last season, he has had a stop start campaign this time around.
The striker’s last appearance was in a 4-1 loss against Crystal Palace back in the middle of September. Immediately upon returning, he showed his worth to the team by scoring in the game to help salvage a draw for the away team. It provided a mightily important point for Stoke, who have been highly inconsistent this season.
The recent run of three consecutive victories have certainly helped them move away from the relegation zone. Incredibly, the club has managed only three wins so far this season. Just when it seemed that the run would be brought to an end, Bojan Krkic scored the equaliser which helps retain the team’s unbeaten run.
“I was emotional, and I tell you why. It’s the feeling when you haven’t really been playing and when you score. It was also a goal to draw the game level for the team – all together it made a big moment for me and the team.No one is happy when they’re not playing, but the important thing is to be strong and work hard. I’ve been doing extra work, but I always do. I want to feel at my best and I want to be ready when the gaffer gives me the chance,” said Bojan.
